Mischa Barton
Barton has worked in theater in film, television and theater. She is American-born and British. Slavs, a Tony Kushner's production in New York's Lincoln Center was her first theatrical performance. The actress also performed the principal role in James Lapine's Twelve Dreams. In 1996 she debuted as an actress with only a brief appearance as a character in All My Children. She played characters in Nickelodeon's animated series KaBlam! From 1996 to 1997, she voiced an character on the Nickelodeon animated TV show, KaBlam! From 1996 to 1997, her first major acting performance came in Lawn Dogs, a drama starring Sam Rockwell. The actress made a splash in the film industry in films like M. Night Shyamalan's psychological thriller The Sixth Sense (1999) as well as the love story Notting Hill (1999). Additionally, in 1999 she played a role in the crime-thriller by an independent company called Pups. Barton as Evan Rachel Wood's love-interest on ABC's Once and Again in 2001 and was also in the independently-produced film Lost and Delirious in 2001. In her performance as Marissa Cooper on the Fox television series The O.C. in 2003-2006, she received two Teen Choice Awards. Barton has gained a lot of attention due to her role, and Entertainment Weekly named her the year's "It Girl" in 2003. Since then, Barton has acted in the dramatic Closing the Ring, directed by Richard Attenborough, as well as in the comedy St Trinian's and the Assassination of a High School President. She also made a appearance on television again in 2009, appearing in the CW show The Beautiful Life, which Ashton Kutcher produced.
